Cheburashka is a system of lure weighting that consist of a detachable snap and a weight. Due to such a solution, the lure is mounted articulately to the weight. Perfect choice for soft lures and roostertails arming, but also for weighting hard lures.
To rig a lure, simply place the eye of a hook or treble onto the snap and insert it through the opening in the lead, ensuring both round ends stick out on either side. Then, close the snap and attach your line or leader to one of the eyes — and you're ready to fish.
A Cheburashka-mounted lure moves freely on the hook, unlike standard jig heads where the hook is fixed to the lead. This free movement gives the lure a more natural, erratic action that triggers more bites. It’s highly effective with standard hooks, offset hooks, and trebles, especially Mikado Sensual doubles.
