When in the outdoors, gear has to bounce back from rips and holes. Seam Grip WP Field Repair Kit includes all the essential tools for a repair that lasts. Use it as a seam sealer or repair adhesive for a tent and other camping gear including air mattresses and sleeping pads. This compact repair kit includes Seam Grip WP Sealant (7 g), two 7.62 cm Tenacious Tape Patches (clear and black nylon), and an applicator brush. How to use:

Prep:

1. Wear disposable gloves for easy cleanup
   
2. For non-fabric surfaces, lightly buff repair area with sandpaper
   
3. Clean and dry repair area with isopropyl alcohol to remove oils, waxes, dirt, and other residue.

Seam Sealing:

1. Prep surface as directed above
   
2. Apply a thin film of Seam Grip + WP across taut stitching and under fabric folds
   
3. Keep repairs level until fully cured (8-12 hours)
   NOTE: A slight surface tack is normal on freshly cured adhesive and will dissipate with item use. Tack can be eliminated with talc-free powder.

Tent Seam Sealing:

1. Seal seam inside tent by applying Seam Grip + WP to seam. Brush under fabric folds and into stitching
   
2. Allow Seam Grip + WP to cure for  8 to 12 hours before packing tent
   
3. A slight surface tack is normal and will dissipate with tent use

Repair Small Holes & Tears:

1. Prep surface as directed above
   
2. Add masking tape to the inside of fabric to hold tear and dam any gaps
   
3. Spread Seam Grip + WP with the reusable applicator onto the outside of fabric to cover the hole/tear, extending beyond the damaged area by 0.5" (13 mm)
   
4. Keep repairs level until fully cured (8-12 hours)

Repair Holes in Sleeping Pads & Self-Inflating Mats:

1. Find the leak. Gear Aid recommend using a spray bottle of soapy water to spray on the area suspected to be leaking. Lightly press mattress. The hole will produce bubbles. Mark the spot with a pen. Clean off the soapy residue then allow area to dry
   
2. Prep surface as directed above
   
3. Apply Seam Grip + WP to extend 0.5" (13 mm) around hole
   
4. Keep repairs level until fully cured (8-12 hours)

Quicker Repairs:

1. Complete Steps 1 + 2. 
   
2. Allow Seam Grip + WP to cure for 2 hours
   
3. Center Tenacious Tape patch and apply over adhesive. Patch must extend at least 0.5" (13 mm) beyond adhesive and directly to inflatable material to prevent leakage

Re-Bond Boot/Shoe Soles:

1. Prep surface as directed above. At minimum: clean with brush and water and remove all dirt
   
2. Apply generous amount of Seam Grip + WP to interior surfaces and spread with the reusable applicator
   
3. Compress sole to upper. Remove excess adhesive
   
4. Use tape or ski strap to hold sole in place for 8 to 12 hours

Re-Bond Rands on Boots:

1. Prep surface as directed above to remove waterproofing waxes on bonding surfaces.
2. At minimum: clean with brush and water and remove all dirt. Stuff boot with crushed newspaper
   
3. Buff repair area to expose untreated leather
   
4. Apply Seam Grip + WP into gap with the reusable applicator and close firmly with tape
   
5. Keep repairs level until fully cured (8-12 hours, up to 24 hours)

Clean-up & Storage

• Dried Seam Grip + WP will flake off hands; you can also wash adhesive off with soap and water
  
• Uncured Seam Grip + WP can be removed with rubbing alcohol
  
• For a longer lifespan, cover opening with a small piece of tin foil, push unused adhesive towards tube neck. Wipe threads clean and secure cap over tin foil.
  
• Store partially used tube in a plastic storage bag in the freezer.
