Good quality waders can last for years if properly cared for. Rinse them off and dry them after every use, store them correctly by hanging them by their heels, and repair any punctures, cracks, or tears promptly. Don't forget to keep your toenails short. Following these tips alongside the manufacturer's care instructions will ensure your waders serve you well for a long time.

Transporting

Roll waders instead of folding when transporting them. Folding creates creases which become weak points and lead to tears over time.

Avoid letting your waders sit in direct sunlight before or after use, and never leave them wet and dirty in your car overnight.

⚠️

Improper transport or storage may void the warranty — handle with care.

Storing

  • Store waders flat or hanging — folding stresses seams and creates creases that can lead to leaks.

  • For winter storage, ensure waders are completely clean and dry before putting them away.

  • Store indoors, away from the elements — not in a box on the floor in a shed or garage, as waders can attract mice during cold months.

  • Wax the exterior to create a barrier between the rubber surface and the elements, preventing dry rot. You can also apply Vaseline on top — just wipe off any excess.

  • If you need a dedicated storage solution, we recommend a wader-specific hanger hung by the heels.

Saltwater Care

If using your waders in saltwater, rinse thoroughly with fresh water after every single use. Saltwater is corrosive and can affect the integrity and breathability of the fabric, significantly shortening their lifespan.

Always allow waders to dry completely before storing them.

Drying

⚠️

Letting waders dry thoroughly is critical. Mould doesn't require much moisture to grow and can destroy perfectly good waders — affecting breathability, damaging the membrane, causing odours, and loosening seam tape, which leads to leaks.

Air drying is the best solution

Turn your waders inside out and hang them by the heels to dry overnight. This protects the inner lining and helps them maintain their shape.
